- Bonnie Kaplan Cluster VIII Secondary Pyramid Resource Specialist
703/571/423-4240. The pyramid resource specialist (PRS) is the liaison
between Office of Special Education resources and school-based staff. Working
through the principal, the PRS provides support for the instructional program
by:
- Assisting school staff in analyzing student data to develop instructional plans
- Identifying models of best practice Identifying instructional strategies for differentiation
- Supporting teacher collaboration across disciplines, grade levels, and schools
- Providing professional development for general and special education teachers
- Accessing support from curriculum specialists and curriculum resource teachers
- Facilitating development of scheduling models that support effective instruction and inclusive practices
- Providing guidance regarding Virginia State Assessment options (SOL, VGLA, VSEP, and VAAP)

The Westfield Inclusive Schools Resource Teacher Jeanne Fraser, 703/488-6565, In assigned schools, inclusive schools resource teachers work under the direction of the PRS to:
- Provide on-site instructional modeling and coaching for teachers and school teams
- Assist staff members in addressing challenging student behaviors
- Deliver professional development for general and special education teachers
- Provide direct support to teachers completing portfolios, VGLA, VSEP, and VAAP

- POPOAC-NoVA is putting together a proposal for improving secondary school
programs in FCPS for children with autism. Our primary focus is middle
schools but we also want to hear from high school parents. In order to
propose a complete and comprehensive program we need input from:
- parents of children who receive autism services in secondary school programs at FCPS
- parents of children who will receive autism services in secondary school programs at FCPS in the next one or 2 years
- any of your friends who may have children in secondary school autism programs at FCPS
