The Virginia Lottery has announced a nominations deadline extension so you still have time to nominate a teacher who has made an impact!
Parents and students have a great opportunity to spotlight a deserving Virginia public school teacher through a joint awards program from the Virginia PTA, the Virginia Lottery, and the Supply Room Companies.
The "Virginia Lottery Super Teacher Awards" will recognize eight Virginia public school teachers with a $2,000 credit from the Supply Room Companies to outfit their classrooms as well as a $2,000 prize from the Virginia Lottery.
This program honors those teachers who have made such a difference in the lives of their students. Nominations, due by March 12, 2010, may be made by anyone who is at least 18 years old. Nominate online today!
Nominees must be full-time, fully licensed public school teachers who currently teach grades K - 12 in the state of Virginia. Judging will be based on essays demonstrating the nominees' passion and commitment to teaching, classroom innovation and creativity and the involvement of parents and families in their students' education.
